When our black Labrador, Cody, was faced with radiation treatments for a mast cell tumor, we were as scared about the unknowns of the treatment as we were about the diagnosis itself. We knew it was expensive—at least $2,500. We had no idea what to expect—physically for Cody or emotionally for ourselves. Most difficult was the fact that we knew no one who had shared a similar experience who could share information with us to help us prepare.

Fortunately, Cody’s treatments were successful. He lived another five years, free of the cancer for which he was treated. Cody died on Aug. 5, 2004, or an unrelated splenic tumor, but our shared experiences and memories did not die with him. In an effort to honor him and the knowledge and experience he brought us through his radiation treatment, we have created Cody’s Club, a foundation to financially and emotionally help those who are faced with the radiation decision.

Cody’s Club provides financial support for those who face radiation treatments on a limited income, and also emotional support services in the form of a hotline and in-person group that meets monthly.

Any donations made to Cody’s Club are tax deductible, and will go exclusively to benefit other animal lovers who are simply trying to get the best and most comprehensive care for their pets alive when faced with the tragedy of cancer.

We hope you will help us spread the word about Cody’s Club. Our goal is to ensure no family suffers alone when it comes to providing the best care for the pets they love.

Sincerely,
Nicole, Brian & Daniel Kraft
